When it comes to eating, most of us are enslaved not to where it matters, that is the body where it needs the energy from the food in order to function, but to our throats, where our appetite arguably resides. The problem is that our throats do not really care if our tank is already full or if the food is bad for us. What matters is that we satiate it by consuming whatever it has set its desires on. So if you want to “watch your diet”, be mindful of this simple yet crucial fact. Do not let your throat dictate how much you eat. Try spreading and spacing the time you feed your appetite. Practise restraint. Do not give in to it by eating whatever and whenever you fancy. You can have them, just not at one setting or in a single day. The more persistent and consistent you are in doing so, you would eventually tame this inner beast of yours.
