As we grow older, one thing is for sure. Change is the one thing we can count on to happen whether we like it or not. To resist it consumes a lot of energy to no purpose. Rather than doing so, we should channel that energy to prepare ourselves to deal with change when it eventually happens. Failure to prepare for it is usually what causes the unhappiness and strong resistance towards it. Admittedly, there are indeed events in life that are hard to prepare for. This is where having conditioned the mind to be ready for change, to be nimble and flexible helps. A way to practise this would simply be to do one thing different every other week or month. It also helps filling your mind up with new ideas from books and other great content platforms. In the end, change will happen. You can waste your time rejecting it or pull yourself together, embrace it and make the necessary preparations.
